FAQ's

Is it true that once you start going to a chiropractor, you have to keep going?
Absolutely Not. You don’t HAVE to do anything. However, when most people begin health care with a chiropractor, they quickly realize how much better they feel afterward. Dr. Todd will recommend an appropriate course of care to meet your specific needs.

Chiropractic focuses on prevention of symptoms. Patients are recommended to visit their chiropractor a minimum of two times per year. Much like going to a dentist, eating well, or brushing your teeth, chiropractic care is good for you.

You're in Charge

Regardless of your health goals, please understand that Dr. Todd sees himself as your employee and you as the boss. It’s your body, your health, and your future. His job is to offer you the finest health care possible, and it’s up to you to decide how much of it you want. If an employee is not doing his job efficiently, soon he may not have a job. If you feel that the care he is providing is not satisfactory, bring it to his attention.

Chiropractic care has been used in the treatment of many common childhood ailments, such as colic, respiratory distress, fever, ADHD, and earaches. As they grow, children will often suffer injuries as a result of playing sports, falling and other childhood-related accidents. Regular chiropractic checkups can identify problems and may help to avoid some of the health problems that are so common in adults. Chiropractic care can stabilize scoliosis; improve health, and monitor and correct poor posture in children.

Generally, it's never too early to begin chiropractic on children. Although the adjusting techniques used on children are modified, the benefits are just as great. Since a degree of spinal trauma can happen during childbirth, when the spine and neck may be injured as the baby is pushed through the birth canal, parents should have their newborns checked by a Doctor of Chiropractic. The youngest patient Dr. Todd had treated is 2 days old.

At SIHC we feel that your health care should not be dependent on “third party” recommendations. It is for this reason that we do not directly bill your insurance company for the service we provide. However, we will provide you with a receipt with every diagnosis code needed for you to submit to your insurance company. They will then reimburse you directly.

Everybody is different and presents themselves with a unique situation. With that being said, there isn’t a “cookbook” answer to this question. However, a high percentage of patients start to feel a noticeable change in their symptoms within three visits. Dr. Todd has treated some individuals one time and their symptoms were completely eliminated. On the other hand, some people’s health issues are more complex and can take some time to correct.

At SIHC your first visit will start of by completing several pages on health information forms. This generally takes about twenty minutes, so please arrive early for your scheduled appointment. After you have finished the paperwork, you will then discuss your health issues with Dr. Todd. He will listen intently and may ask you some apparently random questions. Rest assured, these questions will be pertinent to your situation. You will then have a complete functional neurological exam, in depth postural analysis, and, if needed, a nutritional evaluation. Your first visit will take approximately two hours. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes.
